Dan & Denise Collison, Lead Pastor

Married in 1990, Dan and Denise are on a joint mission to see God's Kingdom come to earth.  Since 1985 Dan has served as a Youth Pastor, Assistant Pastor, Associate Pastor, Church Planter and Senior Pastor, all in an attempt to help Christians be obedient to and available for the amazing things God wants to do through them.  He has served on denominational church planting and leadership training teams, as well as being a "healthy church" consultant.  Dan has simply been seeking opportunities to live out his calling: Preach the Good News, call people to prayer, seek real unity and cooperation among churches, and plant new churches.

More than anything else, Dan brings to The Sanctuary-Pickering a desire to see the community and the lives of families changed by the awesome love and power of Jesus Christ.  Dan says, "The institutional church is perceived by many as cold and distant --- often with good reason!  It's time we got back to doing what Jesus did: demonstrating God's desire to be in relationship with people by serving them.  It is because of Jesus' example that we are working to be an indispensable channel of hope and help for the families of Pickering, Durham Region and beyond!"

For Children & Youth

Our goal for Children and Preteen/Youth Ministries is to make sure each child knows that Jesus loves them.  It is our desire to ignite a passion in each heart for knowing, loving  and serving God.

"Let the children come to me (Jesus).  Don't stop them!  For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children." Gospel of Mark 10:14 (NLT)  

First Steps is for children from birth to preschool age.  We have loving volunteers who will provide meaningful and child-friendly interaction.

Kidz Konnection is for children from Kindergarten to Grade 5.  Children are dismissed to Kidz Konnection partway through our gatherings.  All children return to the main gathering a few minutes prior to the end of our time together.  At Kidz Konnection, we use technology, music, games, drama and interactive story telling in a Large Group/Small Group format to help build a solid Christian foundation in your child.

Step Up is our preteen/youth ministry group for students in Grades 6 and up.  At Step Up, your son or daughter will meet new friends and have fun while being challenged by TRUTH all at the same time.  We have leaders who love youth and are ready and eager to impact the next generation in a BIG way.   Youth Night --- at the home of Siegmar & Barb Pulst, 909 Vistula Drive, Pickering. This is a great opportunity for youth between Grades 6-9 to have some social interaction, to learn more about God and to bring new friends!
